Plastic Injection Molding Industry Seeks Solutions to AI and Workforce Challenges…KTC Holds 'HRD and Smart Manufacturing Workshop'
Date 2026-04-10 Views428

The Mechanical Industry Human Resources Development Committee (Mechanical ISC) of the Korean Testing Certification Institute (KTC) announced that it held the 'Next Generation Executives HRD and Future Strategy Workshop for the Plastic Injection Molding Industry' at the Ibis Styles Ambassador Gangnam Hotel in Seoul on April 10.

Key figures from domestic injection molding machinery and manufacturing companies, including Woojin Plaimm, attended the event, which was organized to discuss workforce management challenges and survival strategies for the future in the industry.

The workshop consisted of practical lectures by labor attorneys and administrative consultants. Specific topics broadly covered included △Workplace Innovation Win-Win Consulting for the Injection Molding Industry △Key Issues Regarding Recruitment and Stay of Foreign Workers △Directions for Introducing AI-Based Manufacturing Execution System (MES) △Measures to Link Robotics and Smart Manufacturing in the Injection Molding Sector.

The AI-based demand and quality prediction and anomaly detection functions shared at the event indicated that digital transformation in production sites has become an essential survival strategy that goes beyond simple facility investments, receiving enthusiastic responses from attendees. KTC diagnosed that this shift to smart manufacturing is directly related to HRD tasks such as job redesign and employee competency enhancement in the field, and announced plans to actively support customized on-site diagnoses and improvement measures in the future.

President Sung-Il Ahn of KTC stated, “This workshop was a meaningful occasion where major companies in the industry gathered to thoroughly discuss core issues, from workforce management to AI-based manufacturing innovation. As the representative institution of the Mechanical ISC, we will continue to expand substantive support programs based on field demand.”
