Korea Testing Certification institute (KTC) has announced that its Shenzhen Testing Center in China has been designated as a Certification Body Testing Laboratory (CBTL) in the field of secondary batteries by the International Electrotechnical Commission for Electrical Equipment (IECEE). Since January, the center has been issuing International Accredited Test Reports (IECEE-CB).
While the majority of secondary batteries are manufactured in China, there have been challenges in exporting samples to other countries for testing and certification. However, with the certification obtained from KTC Shenzhen Testing Center, companies based in China can now conveniently acquire certification without the need to send samples to IECEE's 54 member countries, including North America and Europe. This is expected to significantly improve the business convenience for domestic companies with manufacturing bases in China.
Moreover, in December of the previous year, KTC Shenzhen Testing Center was designated as a Chinese accredited testing laboratory for the field of secondary batteries, encompassing performance and transportation, by CNAS. This designation allows for the issuance of Chinese accredited test reports, ensuring the safety and quality of products.
CNAS (China National Accreditation Service) is an organization established by the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People's Republic of China (CNAB) and the China National Accreditation Board for Laboratories (CNAL) to designate institutions with quality systems and technical capabilities for testing services.
KTC actively supports Korean companies in obtaining all necessary overseas certifications for major country exports, including the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, thereby contributing to enhancing the national export competitiveness. It is a leading internationally accredited testing and certification institution in Korea.
