KTC's Participation in Daegu Machinery Expo 2023 to Boost Industry and Workforce Development

Korea Testing Certification institute (KTC) has confirmed its presence at the 'Daegu Machinery Expo 2023,' scheduled to be held at Daegu EXCO from November 14th to 17th. Throughout the event, KTC will actively promote the initiatives of the Industrial Skills Council (ISC) and extend comprehensive support to machinery industry enterprises. This support will encompass competency assessments, both domestic and international certifications, and assistance with export processes.

ISC is a collaborative effort by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, involving 19 organizations and associations. The committee aims to foster human resources development across diverse sectors, including the machinery industry.

KTC's agenda includes evaluating the technological standing of participating firms, pinpointing promising sectors within the machinery industry, creating customized job profiles, and enlisting businesses interested in tailored consulting services. These services are designed to facilitate competency-based recruitment and employee training, aligning with the National Competency Standards (NCS)*.

* National Competency Standards (NCS): A government-established framework that categorizes the knowledge, skills, and attributes essential for specific industries and job levels.

Moreover, KTC will introduce services supporting performance certification tests and KS certification tests geared towards digital transformation. These services ensure machinery industry enterprises can adapt seamlessly. Information on acquiring international certifications for exports, including those for the Americas and Europe, will also be shared with participating companies.

KTC has developed and implemented roadmaps spanning 13 strategic fields to embrace the digital, green, and future growth industries. The focus lies on core competencies in software and 5G technology. Leveraging these strengths, the organization offers comprehensive cybersecurity solutions, bolstering the competitiveness of businesses associated with smart factories.

Sungil Ahn, President of KTC, emphasized, "Drawing on our testing and evaluation expertise, we are committed to supporting manufacturing companies in areas such as new product development, testing, certification, and exports. Additionally, through the Industrial Human Resources Development Committee, we aim to contribute significantly to systematic workforce development."

The 'Daegu Machinery Expo 2023,' centered around 'Automation, Parts, Materials, and Robotics Industry,' will present innovative technologies and solutions tailored for the era of smart manufacturing and digital transformation. The event is set to draw participation from approximately 400 companies and organizations.
