KTC Strengthens Collaboration with Regional Skills Councils in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, and Gyeongnam

Korea Testing Certification institute (KTC) announced on the 20th that it has signed a MOU with the Industrial Skills Council (ISC) in the machinery industry. The agreement aims to enhance collaboration in fostering specialized talents tailored to the needs of the regional and industrial sectors.

The ISC, responsible for developing tailored professional talent in the machinery industry, signed the MOU with the Regional Skills Councils (RSC) in Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi, and Gyeongnam at the ISC headquarters in Seongnam.

The Human Resources Development Council is a joint initiative by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and Human Resources Development Service of Korea to support human resources development. In addition to the Machinery Industry ISC, there are a total of 19 ISCs organized by industry and 17 RSCs organized by region. KTC was designated as the representative organization for the Machinery Industry ISC in April, becoming the first domestic testing and certification agency to hold such a role.

Through this collaboration, the Machinery Industry ISC and regional RSCs will engage in mutual exchanges such as sharing information on regional and industrial-specific talent supply, conducting surveys and analyses of workforce demand and training needs in the local machinery industry, building cooperative systems for sharing and utilizing information in the machinery industry, and identifying and executing collaborative projects.

The collaboration with RSCs in the Seoul metropolitan area and Gyeongnam is expected to contribute to the development of practical talents needed in the machinery industry.

With Seoul RSC, efforts will focus on developing human resources in various converging fields, including the machinery industry. Incheon RSC will support human resources development and employment-related education and training for machinery and manufacturing companies in the national industrial complex.

Collaboration with Gyeonggi RSC is planned to address key regional and industrial issues, including resolving labor shortages in the manufacturing sector and human resources development. The partnership with Gyeongnam RSC will build on the successful collaboration this year, which included training for smart factory personnel in the Gyeongnam region. Future plans include cooperation in various fields where job opportunities and demands for human resources development are increasing, such as aerospace and defense.

During the signing ceremony, Jung Ki-hoon, Vice President of KTC and Operating Chairman of the Machinery Industry ISC, expressed the commitment to strengthen collaboration with the key regions of the machinery industry, including the Seoul metropolitan area and Gyeongnam. He emphasized the dedication to creating quality youth employment opportunities and developing high-quality human resources in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the era of digital transformation.
