KTC and Gangwon Province Enhance Strategic Collaboration for Semiconductor Industry Development
Date 2024-01-24 Views298

The Korea Testing Certification (KTC) is joining forces with Gangwon Province to foster the semiconductor industry.

On the 23rd, Director Ahn Sung-il of the Korea Testing Certification held a meeting with Governor Kim Jin-tae at the provincial office to discuss the establishment of a semiconductor testbed for Gangwon-style semiconductors.

As the coordinating agency for the project, the institute pledged continuous investment and collaboration for the establishment of the "Future Vehicle Field Parts and System Semiconductor Reliability Verification Center" in Wonju,

Gangwon. The verification center, with a total investment of 309 billion won, including 150 billion won in government funding, will be equipped with approximately 35 types of testing and evaluation equipment.

Through this initiative, the institute aims to actively support the attraction of semiconductor companies in the Gangwon region, promote the growth of automotive field component companies, and strengthen technical support by deploying specialized personnel on-site.

President Ahn Sung-il stated, "We plan to expand the evaluation infrastructure not only for future vehicle semiconductors but also for AI semiconductors and sensors, which Gangwon Province is actively promoting," emphasizing active support for enhancing the technological competitiveness of companies and revitalizing related industries.

Governor Kim Jin-tae expressed, "We will closely cooperate for the success of the project" and urged the institute to play a significant role in the growth of Gangwon companies and the expansion of investments in the Gangwon region.
